Jamco America Testing Services

Ballistic Testing

  • Jamco America has designed and fabricated our own internal test facility capable of performing the ballistic testing required for demonstrating compliance with the requirements of FAA 14 CFR Part 25.795. This facility has been reviewed by the FAA and approved for producing, recording, and documenting the data necessary for showing commercial aircraft flight deck doors and bulkheads resistant to penetration from small arms and fragmentation devices as specified in AC 25.795-2A. This facility is fully enclosed and includes a secure viewing room to provide protection from ballistic particles and lead exposure.
  • Additionally, Jamco America has also developed the equipment necessary for performing the 300 joule impact testing required for demonstrating commercial aircraft flight deck doors and bulkheads resistant to forcible intrusion as specified in AC 25.795-1A.
  • Our facilities have been used for generating data to demonstrate compliance for many certification programs, including several FAA Supplemental Type Certificates, the Boeing 787 Type Certificate, and most recently the ARJ 21 Type certificate.

Static Testing

  • We have our own static test facility capable of performing both partial component and full scale static load testing of commercial aircraft interior furnishings. This facility has pneumatic actuators capable of applying loads of up to 15,000 lbs. and has been used to perform limit and ultimate load static tests of lavatories, galleys, closets, stowage units, class dividers, ceiling panels, and passenger seats.
  • In addition to full scale monument static testing, Jamco America also has an Instron machine capable of applying 20,000 lb. loads, which can be used for component testing, developing material allowables data, and developing slip resistance factors for floor coverings.
  • These facilities have been used for generating data to demonstrate compliance for many certification programs, including FAA, EASA, and CAAS Supplemental Type Certificates, and both Boeing and Airbus Type Certificates.
  • Jamco America also performs our own life cycle and robustness testing for mechanical mechanisms such as flight deck door electro-mechanical latches and seat kinematics.
  • As a well-qualified and experienced aircraft interiors company, Jamco America has several Structural DER(s) / ODA Unit Members on staff with authorization to review and approve static load test plans and reports and witness testing on behalf of the FAA. We also have ODA Inspection Unit Members capable of inspecting and determining conformity of static load test articles and test setups.

Flammability Testing

  • Our own internal fire properties test facility capable of performing the Bunsen Burner, Heat Release, and Smoke Density testing required for demonstrating compliance with the requirements of FAA 14 CFR Part 25.853 in accordance with Part 25 Appendix F and the Fire Test Hand Book.
  • This facility has been reviewed by both the FAA and Airbus and approved for producing, recording, and documenting data to be used for both FAA and EASA certification programs, and this equipment has been used for many certification programs, including many FAA, EASA, and CAAS Supplemental Type Certificates, and both Boeing and Airbus Type Certificates.
  • Jamco America also performs our own fire containment testing, and we have direct access to external test facilities nearby for performing seat cushion Oil Burner testing and Flame Propagation testing.
  • As a well-qualified and experienced aircraft interiors company, Jamco America has several Fire Property DER(s) / ODA Unit Members on staff with authorization to review and approve static load test plans and reports and witness testing on behalf of the FAA. We also have ODA Inspection Unit Members capable of inspecting and determining conformity of static load test articles and test setups.

Dynamic Testing

  • The onsite dynamic test facility capable of performing 21, 18, 16 and 14G dynamic seat impacts tests for the certification of passenger and crew seating to the requirements of FAA 14 CFR Part 25/27/29.562 and has met all FAA audit requirements to test and deliver data for testing compliance.
  • As a well-qualified and experienced aircraft interiors company, Jamco America has several Dynamic Seat ODA Unit Members on staff with authorization to review and approve dynamic load test plans and reports and witness testing on behalf of the FAA. We also have ODA Inspection Unit Members capable of inspecting and determining conformity of dynamic load test articles and test setups.
