Jamco America’s Executive Vice President, Don Wren, was recently part of a panel at the prestigious Aviation Future Week, held at the Museum of the Future in Dubai. This event, organized by Emirates and the Museum of the Future, brought together global aerospace experts and leaders to explore the future of aviation.
During the panel on “Future Requirements for Airline Engineering and Maintenance,” Wren emphasized the critical role of the aviation industry in the Middle East and its significant impact on the global economy. He highlighted the increasing demand for products and the growing need for speed and agility in product delivery to meet evolving customer needs.
Wren’s insights on sustainability in aviation were particularly noteworthy. He stated, “Sustainability is something that we need to embrace in our business, it can’t be an afterthought. I think today, in many cases, it’s still an afterthought and is not being designed in from the beginning. If we’re going to be successful at it, and we will, it needs to be integrated into our products, services, and business processes from the start.”
The event attracted high-profile attendees, including His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Border Security Council, and H.E. Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE Minister of Economy. Other notable speakers included Wouter Van Wersch, Executive Vice President of Airbus International, Werner Vogels, Chief Technology Officer of Amazon, and Omar Bindadai, Chief Technology and Infrastructure Officer at Dubai International Airport.
The three-day Aviation Future Week 2024 conference showcased a wide range of topics, from emerging technologies like AI and XR to advancements in onboard products and strategies for enhancing passenger experiences. This gathering of industry leaders emphasized the rapid evolution of the aviation sector and its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and improved customer experiences. As the industry continues to evolve, events like these play a crucial role in shaping the future of air travel and aerospace technology, highlighting the importance of collaboration and forward-thinking in driving progress within the global aviation landscape.
